life that could cause you to become ill. Poison oak can be more than just a nuisance for
some. If it gets into a person's eyes, it could mean serious injury.

is little cause for concern. Preparation is the key to any successful adventure. If you'll
be hiking, you'll need to prepare yourself with the proper equipment and a way to reach
out for help should you become injured. If you will be camping, the same rules apply.
The clever thing to do is to always let someone know where you'll be going and when you
expect to return. No, butterfly watching doesn't seem like a dangerous hobby. But any
simple expedition can become dangerous at any time.
Safety must be taught and encouraged with young butterfly watching enthusiasts as
well. If a young person wanders into a field because they're intent upon a butterfly's
path, they could meet up with a snake or a wild animal that could cause them harm. It's
better to be overprotective than to wish you had!
